Learning in the classroom is very interactive at IVS School of Art and Design. There’s experimentation, sketching, questioning, and learning in the classroom. Learning Through Design Studios
As the students continue in this learning process, they slowly move from a focus on learning to a focus on design studios. The students get to learn in a real-world setting in this part of their learning process. The projects in this part of their learning process include residential spaces, retail spaces, cafes, hospitality spaces, among others.
This learning process can be referred to as an experiential learning process. The students move from conceptual designs to space designs to finally end up with detailed drawings. This is a very important part of the students’ learning process because they get to think as designers would think. This includes factors such as user considerations, sustainability, lighting, and aesthetics in their designs.
This part of the students’ learning process does not only involve the design aspects. Some of the other important aspects of this part of the students’ learning process include those aspects that all people in this world should be able to do. This includes problem-solving skills, team work, and design presentations. The students get to think very clearly with the help of constructive criticism from the instructor.
Exposure Beyond the Classroom
The education in interior design is not restricted within the classroom. The students are exposed to site visits, workshops on materials, and industry exposure. This helps them gain practical knowledge about the implementation of interior design concepts in real life. The students visit showrooms, construction sites, and interior design exhibitions to gain practical knowledge about interior design concepts.

Preparing for the Professional Studio
The students in the final years of interior design education start thinking as an interior designer in real life. Advanced interior design projects are given to the students to develop interior environments that are holistic in nature. The students are also given the task of developing a portfolio to show the interior designs they have created. The portfolio consists of all the aspects of interior designs, ranging from conceptualization to the final visualization of the designs.
The students are given the opportunity to undergo an internship program to gain an understanding of how interior designers function in real life.

In fact, it can be said that the BSc in Interior Design can be termed a transformational experience, wherein the experience changes from merely understanding spaces to understanding design, principles, skills, and expressions.
